Frog Men

Anyone out there know a good source of "frog men" miniatures? You know, weird Lovecraftian-style batrachoid creatures after the fashion of the bullywugs, deep ones, or kuo-toa.

  1. Center Stage Minis @ http://www.centerstagerpgs.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=36 or Secret Skelelton Minis (they're just getting off the ground) @ http://i619.photobucket.com/albums/tt271/chaoticprime/Sahuagin.jpg (this is concept art).

Not sure if either's really as froggy as you want, James, but thought I'd offer them since they're less-well-known companies.

  2. Mega Minis has a line of "Frog Warriors" (bullywugs) that are pretty cheap and look decent.

  3. Arcana Unearthed/Evolved Inshon by Iron Wind Metals, though they have extra eyes and arms, depending on the mini.

  4. If you want magic-users, and aren't allergic to minis which require a little assembly, there's always Games Workshops' Slann Mage-Priest models for the Lizardman army in Warhammer Fantasy. (Crass and commercial it may be, but I do love the Warhammer world for the fact that the most ancient and powerful sorcerers in it aren't elves but enormous fat frog people...)

  5. Reaper is a great place to start. Their figure finder allows you to search their keyworded catalog:

Just type in frog, and a number of figures come up.

  6. frpgames.com has 12 "bullywug thug"s for 0.68US each. They're the prepainted wotc minis. They also have an assortment of various kuo-toans.

  7. Some good suggestions among the comments here. These could be useful for a Blackmoor game too... :)

  8. You may be able to still purchase deep ones from RAFM's Cthulhu range. I believe the website is rafm.com and they are in Brantford Ontario.

  9. Arthur - I love the Slann model. THAT is how you make a toad-wizard look alien, otherworldly and aloof.

  10. I love these figures from Reviresco. They are kind of Creature from the Black Lagoon (standing, swimming and water line).

They have an entire LINE of Frog guys and their Turtleman buddies. A little cartoony but that's all part of their charm!

  13. If you want fast and cheap frogmen minis, and dont care that they are made of paper, you should tryout the Hlutrgu paper minis set at Talzhemir's papercraft page (you have to scroll down to the bottom). That page have over a dozen sets of Tekumel paper figures.

  14. Ursca - agreed, alien, otherworldly, and aloof really sums up the current Slann model.

That, and *indescribably, cosmically angry*, which is what really sold it to me. I have never seen anything look so supremely pissed off.
